SUSQUEHANNA, PA... Alan Rudalavage picked up his first win of the season at the Penn Can Speedway on Friday night. Rudalavage started fourth and took over the lead on lap 13 en route to the win. Alec Gennarelli was back in victory lane as he picked up the win in the Sportsman 20 lap feature. The win for Gennarelli helped to strengthen his points lead in the division. Shane Wolf Jr picked up his fourth win in five weeks of racing in the Street Stock feature. Josh Towner won his first race of the year in the Factory Stock main event. Mike Robinson found his way back to victory lane as he won the 4 Cylinder 15 lap feature.

Mike Dougherty and Bobby Trapper brought the Modified field to the green flag with Trapper quickly jumping to the advantage on the outside of the speedway. Trapper opened up a commanding lead with Dougherty quickly falling back into second. In the opening laps, Alan Rudalavage advanced into third as he worked past Brian Malcolm.

By lap 7 Rudalavage had then moved into second as he battled alongside Dougherty. As the race continued Trapper continued to maintain the lead but Rudalavage slowly began to cut the margin. Meanwhile Brian Weaver raced into fourth from sixth on the grid and looked to close in on the lead trio. By lap 12 Rudalavage had cut the margin to a car length and began to challenge side by side with Trapper for the lead. On the 13th circuit Rudalavage made the pass stick to claim the lead from Trapper on the inside of the speedway. In the immediate laps to follow Rudalavage quickly opened up a healthy lead with Trapper and Dougherty continuing to round out the top 3.

Racing would continue until lap 19 when the next caution flag flew. Rudlavage led the restart with Trapper, Dougherty, Kevin Hartnett and Dan Pompey now rounding out the top 5. As the race raged on Hartnett began to make moves as he worked into third on lap 23. Nick Rochinski then cracked into the top 5 and began to race alongside Trapper. The solid run for both Trapper and Rochinski would come to an end however on lap 28 as Trapper went around and collected Rochinski. This would move Nick Petrilak into fourth and Mike Loney into fifth. In the final two laps, Rudalavage was able to hold on to pick up his first win of the season. Hartnett, Pompey, Petrilak, and Loney completed the top 5.

Alec Gennarelli was back in victory lane in the Sportsman20 lap feature. Gennarelli took the lead from Devon Zona on lap 4 and held on for the reaming laps en route to the win. Genarelli also added to his points lead as the points chase comes down the homestretch for 2015

Shane Wolf Jr notched his fourth win in five weeks of racing at the speedway in the Street Stock 20 lap main event. Chuck Murray looked strong as he jumped to the early advantage and led the first 4 laps of the feature. Ryan Stone then took command on lap 5 and would lead until Wolf made a pass on lap 9 to take the lead. Wolf then opened up his lead and held on for the victory. Stone, Ray Lindquist, Randy Fox and Doug Stack Jr completed the top 5.

Josh Towner collected his first win of the season as he raced to victory in the Factory Stock main event. Towner took over the lead on a lap 3 restart and had the car to beat as he held off the challenges in the reaming 12 laps. Mike Robinson was back in victory lane winning the 4 Cylinder feature. Robinson also took the lead on a lap 3 restart and opened up a healthy lead enroute to the win.

PENN CAN POINTS: The night of racing was run in whole in just over three hours of racing. The speedway would like to thank Andrew Harpell and Five Mile Point Speedway for loaning a water truck as we had problems with both of ours during the day. Next Friday night features a full show of racing that will kick off at 7:30 pm. There will also be Kids Rides prior to the start of the races.
