FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA THIS FRIDAY NIGHT AT PENN CAN SPEEDWAY

SUSQUEHANNA, PA…There will be fireworks in the sky and fireworks on the track this Friday night at Penn Can Speedway. It’s Fireworks Extravaganza night featuring the pyrotechnic marvel of Vibrant Thunder Fireworks. A full show of all divisions will begin at 7:30 p.m.

If you were at Penn Can last year for the fireworks show you saw the most amazing show around. People are still talking about how incredible it was. Brad McAlla from Vibrant Thunder Fireworks got rave reviews for the show he put on last year and has stated that he will attempt to outdo last year’s display this Friday night, if that’s possible.

The action wasn’t limited to the sky. There were fireworks on the track as well with one of the most incredible finishes you could ever see. The top three Sportsman went three wide into turns three and four on the final lap and got tangled up coming to the line with all three drivers spinning across the finish line. The entire capacity crowd was on their collective feet cheering. That was just a prelude to the amazing fireworks in the sky a little bit later in the night.

The Modified division has been wide open this year at Penn Can. There have been six different winners in the six races held this year. Brian Malcolm was the latest to take his car to victory lane last Friday. The win by Malcolm launched him up to third in the points. Alan Rudalavage leads the way over Rookie standout Ryan Olsommer. Joey Colsten is currently fourth ahead of defending Track Champion Kevin Hartnett. As part of the Driver Appreciation Program, all competing Modified drivers will be admitted free of charge this Friday night.

The Sportsman point battle is also a close one with last Friday’s winner Mike Schane out in front by just two markers over Marty Bunker and eight points over Dusty Barton. Shane Wolf, Jr. (Street Stocks), Bud Phillips (Late Models), Jeremy Williams (Factory Stocks) and Frank Kennedy (Four Cylinders) are all on the top of the standings in their respective classes.

Be sure to get to the track early Friday for the biggest night of the year. The Fireworks Extravaganza along with a full show of racing in all divisions will get underway at 7:30 p.m. Pit gates open at 5:00 p.m. and grandstand gates at 5:30 p.m. Penn Can Speedway is located on Route 171 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania.
