HARTNETT, BUNKER, STONE, WILLIAMS, ROBINSON, AND DANCE COLLECT WINS AT PENN CAN

SUSQUEHANNA, PA... Kevin Hartnett made it two in a row at Penn Can Speedway in the Modified feature on Friday Night . Marty Bunker picked up his first career 602 Crate Sportsman win Friday while Ryan Stone won his first Street Stock race of the season. Jeremy Williams picked up his third factory stock feature win, while Dylan Robinson was victorious in the Four Cylinders and Peter Dance was the winner of the Empire Lightning Sprints.

Ken Titus and Frank Porreca brought the Modified field to the green flag for their 30 lap feature. Titus took to the topside of the speedway and grabbed the race lead with a strong running Porreca a very close second. The racing took no time whatsoever to heat up with Modified sophomore runner Porreca applying pressure to Kirkwood. NY's Titus.

A quick caution brought the field to a stop on lap 5 just as the racing began to heat up. On the restart, the three wide action began to heat up as well between Mike Loney, Nick Petrilak, and soon to be Kevin Hartnett. All three drivers then went on to battle top to bottom in three wide fashion for the next several laps.

By lap 10 Titus continued to look strong out front running the extreme high side of the wide racing surface with Porreca continuing to work the inner half of the speedway. Lap after lap the top two drivers were side by side all the way around the speedway but Porreca was unable to officially pass Titus.

The next caution came out on lap 15 as Frank Bonham lost a wheel in turn one ending his night. At this point Titus continued to lead over Porreca, Nick Rochinski and Hartnett, with Petrilak completing the top 5. On the ensuing restart, Hartnett quickly worked by Rochinski for third and then advanced one more position on the following lap to get by Porreca for second. Hartnett, who started tenth, then wasted no time going to work on Titus for the race lead.

Titus was unable to old off the challenges of Hartnett as he would surrender the lead on lap 18. Hartnett then jumped out to a healthy lead over Titus. Meanwhile, Rochinski began to pick it up as he cracked into the top three by virtue of passing Porreca.

In the immediate laps to follow, Hartnett opened up a sizable advantage however the action from second on back continued to be great three wide racing. By lap 24, Hartnett had caught the tail end of the field and began dealing with lapped traffic. Hartnett made quick work of the slower cars to put them down a lap. The best battle on the track was then for second between Titus and Rochinski who went side by side lap after lap for the closing 10 circuits.

In final laps, Hartnett held on comfortably for the win over Titus and Rochinski. Bob Trapper, and Brian Weaver made late race charges to round out the top five finishers.

Marty Bunker picked up his first career Crate Sportsman victory on Friday doing so in impressive fashion running the cushion around the top of the speedway. Bunker led the opening 9 laps of the 20 lap feature until Paul Rooney was able to take the advantage on lap 10 following a restart. The lead for Rooney was short lived however as Bunker went back to the outside and passed Rooney back on lap 13. Bunker then held on for the final 7 laps enroute to his first Crate Sportsman victory.

Ryan Stone led wire to wire as he picked up his first Street Stock win of 2015. The racing behind the leader was great as several driver raced hard for second through fifth. In the end, Stone proved to be the car to beat as he picked up the win with Shane Wolf Jr, and Doug Stack Jr completing the top 3.

Jeremy Williams raced to his third win of the season in the factory stock 15 lap feature. Williams passed Jason Travis on lap 6 and held on the reaming 9 laps to claim the victory. Dylan Robinson found victory lane for the first time this year in the Four Cylinder feature doing so in dominating fashion. Robinson started in fifth but had the lead on the first lap. He then went on to lead every lap enroute to his 4 cylinder victory, which went caution free. The Empire Lightning Sprints were on hand for their first appearance at the speedway in 2015. Peter Dance looked real strong as he went on to win the 20 lap feature with Don Harvey and Shilo Boyce completing the top 3.
